Understanding Your Skin for Proper Care
Women are very particular about caring for their skin. Beautiful, glowing skin is very nice to look at. There are many different ways of caring for the skin and one of them is applying different brand of lotions, moisturizers, toners and others. Before you put any products on your face or body, you have to first know your skin type. There are five basic types of skin – oily, combination, sensitive, dry and aging/mature.
Oily skin looks shiny and is usually characterized by enlarged pores. This type of skin is prone to blackheads and other acne. In terms of appearance, it looks thick and shiny. The combination type of skin has medium sized pores, and can be either dry or oily in different parts. This is one of the most common skin type and different treatments in each area must be taken into consideration. Sensitive skin, on the other hand is thin and very delicate. This has fine pores and is prone to allergies and rashes. Dry skin can have red patches and is quite flaky. This skin type oftentimes looks dull. Finally, the last type is aging or mature. This has visible wrinkles and has a leathery texture. Having this type of skin can oftentimes lead to dryness.
Any type of skin needs proper care. So make sure you clean your skin every morning and night. Use products appropriate for your skin type. Set a schedule for exfoliation to really get rid of the dirt that entered your pores. This will also help your skin breathe.
